Makeup Review + Some favourites

Hey there,
Today’s post is all about makeup. I will be reviewing a few products that I bought a few weeks ago. I have been wanting to do this for a while now. This post was supposed to go up a long time ago, but I got so caught up with my shoots and exams that I never got the time. But, better late than never! eh? So lets get into it.
I am going to talk about how these products worked on my skin. My skin is super oily and sensitive. The T-zone is the most oily part of my skin.
The products might or might not work the same way for you, depending upon your skin type. So if you really want to try out any product or feel that it will work differently on your skin, you should definitely give it a try.
The products I am going to be reviewing today are:
  • Loreal Infallible 24Hr foundation
  • The L’oreal True Match Concealer
  • Sivanna Colors Skin Primer
  • And the L’oreal Mat Magique Compact

  •  L’oreal Infallible 24hr Foundation

Since my skin type is super oily ( Literally like an oil mill :\ ) I really wanted to try out the L’oreal Infallible Pro Matte Foundation, but sadly it is not available in India. So I decided to go with this one. And I am definitely not disappointed. I absolutely love the Infallible 24hr foundation.
  • It gives me just enough coverage and does not look cakey at all!
  • I apply my foundation first and then my concealer because the foundation covers up as much as it can and then I conceal whatever I still need to. That way I don’t have to cake my face up with too much concealer.
  • Another plus point of this foundation is the fragrance! I love how it smells. Haha!
  • I find it very easy to blend as well.
  • And it stays on for a very long time so you don’t have to worry about it fading away or doing any touch ups.
  • On the negative side- The foundation claims to be non-transferable but it does transfer. For eg. It comes off on the phone when after I’m done talking
But over all I love the foundation and would definitely recommend it.
  • L’oreal True Match Concealer

Before the True Match Concealer, I used to use the Kryolan concealer pallet. I had it at home because my mom is a makeup artist. But the problem with that was that it would always crease under my eye. Which I absolutely hate!
  • Luckily the True Match Concealer doesn’t crease. At least not as much as the Kryolan one. So I’m happy with that.
  • One thing I haven’t mentioned anywhere is that I have a lot of marks on my chin. I don’t know why but I always breakout on my chin. Because of which I have a lot of marks there and I’m very insecure about them. So it is very important for me that the concealer I use covers up all the marks. True Match concealer covers them up perfectly. So basically it gives good coverage.
  • The down side to this product is that there are not a lot of shades to choose from.  In fact, there are only 3 shades to choose from. So you will have a hard time getting your shade. The lightest shade is too light for my skin and the middle shade is too dark so I have to mix two shades to come up with the correct shade for my skin.
  • Sivanna Colors Skin Primer

A lot of you guys wanted me to review this primer. I never really used a primer before applying my makeup but one of my friends recommended the Miss Claire primer (Around Rs.350) and said that was good. Sadly when I went to buy it, it wasn’t available and I was on a budget so I decided to try the Sivanna Colors Skin Primer. Like I mentioned earlier that my skin is super oily, I wasn’t really happy with the primer. The primer has a little glitter in it so, it adds a little shine to my face and I don’t like it. I like my makeup completely matte so I avoid anything that shows any kind of shine on my face. It gives a velvety feeling to my face. I’ve stopped using it already.

  • L’oreal Matt Magique Compact

IMG_1638

Everyone was raving about this compact and that made me want to buy it. I did my research before buying it. I saw youtube videos and read reviews and most of them were really good so, I went ahead and bought it.
  • I have a love/hate feeling towards this product. Sometimes I feel like it makes my skin look cakey and also makes it look grainy.
  • It claims that it takes away the shine from your face. It does, but it doesn’t last long. I have to constantly touch up my face or maybe my skin is just too oily.
  • And sometimes it’s just fine and I have no problem with it. I expected it to be better. After I run out of this one I won’t be buying another.
  • Another negative thing about this is that the mirror is under the compact so it is very inconvenient to see in the mirror and apply.
  • Favourite Lipsticks

I decided to add some of my favourite lipsticks to this post. These are the ones I constantly use. Like my go-to lipsticks!

  1. The first one is from Faces its a Velvet Matte Lipstick called “I Do” Its kinda looks red I the picture, but it’s actually pink!
  2.  It was love at first sight with this one! It is this gorgeous perfect red. It is “Ruby Woo” from Mac. The only annoying thing about this one is that it is super dry! So what I like to do is use a lip balm or a nude lipstick first and then apply this on top. I always use the Faces Glam on “Double Mocha” lipstick. It is super moisturizing and doesn’t change the colour of the red lipstick.
  3. This one is the L’oreal “Glamor Fuchsia” I absolutely love the texture and the colour! It’s almost perfect!
  4. This one is from Chambor it is a powder matte lipstick in the shade Pink Devil 165! It was actually my mom’s but she never used it so she gave it to me and I am obsessed!
  5. Now this one is like my go-to lipstick! I wear it almost every day! It gives some colour to my lips but doesn’t draw too much attention to it. It’s a very subtle colour. It is from Faces, “Double Mocha” 11

If you follow me on Snapchat you’ll know that I bought these exfoliating gloves from “The Body Shop” a few days ago. A friend of mine recommended them so I went ahead and bought them. They’re for Rs.395! And let me tell you, I absolutely LOVE them! They make my skin feel so good after using them! You just have to wear it like gloves and use any face wash or body wash to get rid of all the dead skin! Plus they look super cute and you get them in different colours as well. I picked the purple ones. Haha!
Like I mentioned earlier, I have super oily skin so I obviously use a face wash that helps control the oil. My current favourite is the Clean and Clear Deep Action Oil Control Facewash” I can feel the difference right after I wash my face. If you have oily skin you should definitely give this a try.

I know this post was longer than my usual posts but I hope you guys liked this post. Do let me know if you want me to do more posts like this.

Love,
Shivani
